The human body, like all mammals, contains an endocannabinoid system (ECS). “Endo” means body's own. These endocannabinoids respond to millions of endocannabinoid receptors throughout the body. These receptors act as signalers and regulate all important processes in the body. Cannabinoids such as CBD have a connection with endocannabinoid receptors, so CBD interacts with the ECS. The ECS functions as a regulatory system. It plays a role in the major organs, areas of the brain, nervous system and immune system.
